PT Cardig Aero Services Tbk, along with its subsidiaries, JAS Airport Services (JAS) and JAS Aero Engineering (JAE), has been entrusted with the operation of the world’s largest aircraft, the Airbus A380, owned by Emirates Airline. The historic inaugural flight took place on Thursday, June 1, 2023, following a route from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali (DPS). This momentous flight not only marked a significant milestone for Indonesian aviation but also represented the first scheduled Airbus A380 flight service to Indonesia.
JAS has been chosen by Emirates to provide essential Ground Handling and Cargo Handling services for the Airbus A380. Concurrently, JAE has been entrusted with the responsibility of delivering Line Maintenance and Certification services for this Airbus A380 aircraft, marking its debut in Indonesia.
In the foreseeable future, an Airbus A380 aircraft boasting a 516-passenger capacity with a 3-class configuration – including 14 First Class seats, 76 Business Class seats, and 426 Economy Class seats – is slated to replace one of Emirates daily flights to Bali by Boeing 777-300ER fleet.
Noteworthy as the world’s largest passenger airliner and the sole full-size double-deck jetliner, the Airbus A380 is equipped to cruise at a speed of Mach 0.85 at an altitude of 43,100 feet. Its remarkable range extends up to 8,000 nautical miles or approximately 15,000 km in a single flight.
Powered by four engines producing a thrust of 70,000 lbs, specifically the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 or General Electric / Pratt & Whitney Engine Alliance GP7200, the global Airbus A380 fleet has successfully completed over 800,000 flights spanning 7.3 million flight hours, without any incidents resulting in loss of life. Since its introduction to service in 2007, Airbus has manufactured a total of 254 A380 aircraft for 16 operators across the globe, including Emirates.
