RI Exports Wagyu Beef to Myanmar

Tangerang – For the first time Indonesia exported wagyu beef. Total exported wagyu meat is 600kg.

The export is done by PT Santosa Agrindo (Santori) to Myanmar with a total value of US $ 20,000 or equivalent to Rp 270 million.

Director General of Livestock and Animal Health, I Ketut Diarmita said that Indonesia will export wagyu meat for the first time. The export is done today to Myanmar.

It also plans to continue to encourage export activities in accordance with the mandate of President Joko Widodo.

“Today is the launching of exporting wagyu beef to Myanmar belonging to PT Sentosa Agrindo, because we continue to support and encourage export, we don’t want to be known as an import country but we must export in accordance with the president’s mandate,” Ketut said at the Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Wednesday (7/2/2018).

Director of Corporate Affairs of PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk or parent of PT Santori, Rachmat Indrajaya, said that the import is 600 kg of wagyu beef with a value of US $ 20,000.

“Approximately 600 kg of wagyu meat with a value of US $ 20,000,” he said.

Indra explained that the export activities are conducted with a breaking buying system. So he made some efforts to continue the export.

“We are trying to ASEAN market and introducing to ASEAN market, as our plan in Myanmar will invite hotel and restaurant for food testing as a promotion in the hope of gaining next export,” he said.

PT Santori breeds wagyu cattle at its farm in Lampung. It also has a cattle fattening capacity of 150,000 head per year. The breeding capacity is 10,000.
